During this unit the student will be able to identify the eight planets in our solar system. Students will be able to discuss characteristics and facts they learned about the planets. The students will also choose a planet to research and decide how they would like to present the planet to the class. Finally the students will construct a mural showing the sun and the planets.

The Jeopardy game will be used to review information learned throughout the unit.
The You Tube rap video will be used to help the students learn the nine planets in order.
The You Tube video will be used to help the students learn what characteristics make each planet special.
The students will use the NASA website and The 8 Planets for Kids to research their planet.
BrainPop will be used during whole group instruction to introduce students to each planet. TSW will take online quiz that accompany each video.
